Welcome to Lear for short. One of the few Shakespeare plays I have studied in detail, the other being Twelfth Night. Lear is the play for old and confused men. Maybe writing about being old and confused helps make it easier to manage. Young at heart is a partner to forever young. Both are songs. Both suggest keeping active mentally and physically as we grow older. Apologies to other sites with similar names. Young at Heart was a million-selling record for Frank Sinatra in 1953.

Don’t you know that it’s worth every treasure on earth
To be young at heart

For as rich as you are, it’s much better by far
To be young at heart

Shallilo-foreveryoung (http://shallilo-foreveryoung.org) is a Google blog site, but recent changes have persuaded me to have a go at WordPress. Sam of bionic chef fame is helping me out.

Both blogs are personal. Historical and autobiographical. They not intended to be dry accounts of a dry life. Hopefully quirky and humorous with recurring themes –

  • Stay mentally and physically active
  • Senior moments
  • Senior inspiring role models
  • Current affairs and events
  • Garden glimpses
  • Family matters
  • Writing
  • Awaydays
  • Random stuff that doesn’t fit any of the above
